This means they may feel sensory input more or less intensely than other children, affecting their ability to interact in different environments.

Serene Cheong, Occupational Therapy Team Leader, Child Development Centre (CDC)

Serene completed her studies and training in Occupational Therapy in Singapore and Hong Kong. She has extensive experience in therapy for children with special needs in pre-school and mainstream primary school settings in both countries, and has effectively helped children with complex physical disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, cerebral palsy, sensory integration difficulties and executive functioning difficulties.

Being a  child-directed and family-oriented occupational therapist, Serene is keen to incorporate children’s play ideas in therapy and supports positive parenting. She uses a blended approach to therapy with a strong focus on both sensory integration and DIR Floortime. Each therapy session is uniquely designed to enable children to explore their environment with confidence and learn through fun.
